Professional Books
Professional Books are ones that help you in your job.
- Reading History: a practical guide to literacy by Janet Allen and Christine Landaker. (Oxford Univ. Press: 0195165969: 2005) This quick read puts reading strategies in the context of social studies and reading history, so it is a great link for TLs to use with history teachers and the Social Studies CBAs. There are examples of strategies by a renowned reading expert using Joy Hakim's US History series with real student examples.- Nadean
- "Copyright Catechism: practical answers to everyday school dilemmas" by Carol Simpson. (Linworth Books: 1586832026: 2005) This book is a lifesaver if you have to answer questions about copyright in your job (and who doesn't?). The questions and answers come from Simpson's "Copyright Questions of the Month" in Library Media Connection and are grouped by topic. Great information from an expert. The only problem? No index. - Chris K-B
